BURNS U.S.A. GUITARS TO DONATE INSTRUMENTS TO JUANITA CRAFT COMMUNITY CENTER ON BEHALF OF THE "ART GREENHAW INTERNATIONAL GUITAR NIGHT"

The internationally known guitar firm, Burns Guitars, has once again announced the donation of several of their world-renowned instruments to the Juanita Craft Community Center. The donation was made by the firm on behalf of the 3rd Annual Art Greenhaw International Guitar Night show to be held at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre on Friday, July 1.

Burns Guitars began as a London-based firm, used by such English performers as "The Shadows," Elton John, and George Harrison. They quickly became famous for the quality of their instruments, expanding operations and sales worldwide. Their American firm is Burns U.S.A. Guitars, located in Connecticut. American artists who became users of their guitars include Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson and The Light Crust Doughboys.

This is the second time the firm has donated guitars to this Dallas organization, the first time being on behalf of the 2nd Annual Guitar Night held during the summer of 2004. The donations are a particular pleasure to Mr. Greenhaw, who was a personal friend and community worker with the late Ms. Craft from 1972 until her death in 1985.

Mr. Greenhaw plans to visit the Community Center the week prior to the show to make the presentation of the instruments. The "Guitar Night," hosted by Mr. Greenhaw and the DFW International Organization, is described by Greenhaw as being "an eclectic evening of guitar music from around the world." It will feature music prior to the "rock era," with emphasis on western swing, finger-style American country, European gypsy, and the exotic sound of guitars and stringed instruments of South America, Mexico, and Asia.

The Pocket Sandwich Theatre is located at 5400 East Mockingbird, Suite 119, Mockingbird Central Plaza, one block east of Central Expressway. For information, call 214-821-1860.
