A
radicalized, "custom culture/hot rod art" tribute to the music
and persona of Art Greenhaw by artist John Detrich
— John has creatively combined elements of Art's music, Texana,
Mosrite guitars, Buick Rivieras, and pop art to create a marvelous
illustration.
Art Greenhaw is a long-time
supporter/ambassador of the unique American pop art style exhibited here
and known as "custom culture" or "Kustom Kulture".
This art and culture has many "fathers" such as Ed
"Big Daddy" Roth and Von
Dutch, and it has many "sons" such as John
Detrich. Art Greenhaw has collaborated with Ed Roth on
projects since 1985, and Ed dubbed Art "the voice of Rat
Fink", Rat Fink being Mr. Roth's most famous illustration. At the
heart of "custom culture art" is an appreciation of the great
20th century icon, the automobile. For ideas on how to develop art
